Renovation

The first step to planning a bathroom remodel is evaluating the existing space. If you’re planning on updating or renovating an existing bathroom, what would you like to see improved? Answering these question will help give you a clearer idea of what you want the finished product to look like.

Remodeling is an easier option that can save you money, by replacing whatever faucets and fixtures you don’t want with new ones of the same size or design. Whether that involves minor aesthetic changes or major remodeling modifications, we have unlimited options for you.

You’re probably wondering if this tile is hard to keep clean and the answer is yes! The tile floor shows every piece of dirt and hair. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. Also, I’ve found that giving the floor a good old fashioned scrub on my hands and …

The job of installing our wall-mounted fixtures was tougher than it had to be, thanks to poor and contradictory one-size-fits-all instructions, metric fittings and duplicate and missing mounting parts. Prevent hard-to-fix future problems by test-fitting the actual fixtures when roughing in framing, plumbing and blocking to make sure everything will work out. Then finish the walls. When test-fitting, simulate finished floor and wall surfaces to get the clearances right.

Our latest project has been finishing half of our basement. This is one of the only before photos I have where you can see the old windows and the cinder block walls.

Sometimes a spare bedroom is used as an office, but that doesn’t always offer adequate space. And maybe all of your bedrooms are already being used. Some people convert their basement to not only a home office, but they run their whole company from there. Everything you need to work can be there – phones, fax, internet, etc. And since the space will be used for business, it may be tax deductible (consult your tax advisor for details).

This is an area where paint need not take a back seat to anything – let your imagination (and that of the child) roam free! One memorable bedroom was painted in a light yellow but Dad then dipped a small …

We bought an old farmhouse. It was not in good shape. The house needed remodeling. We had to tear out the old bathroom because the placement of it was in the way of building better staircases. The staircases going to the basement and the second floor. The stairs in this house were like ladders, not stairs.

Nantucket is a tourist destination and summer colony. Nantucket is an island 30 miles (48.3 km) south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in the United States. It is a destination indicative of easy living, beach coming, it is a search for enjoyable and walking in comfortable shoes, enjoying life and appreciating the beauty of outdoors and waterfront living. To me the Nantucket decorating style is equal parts of nautical, colonial classic Americana and one part resort living.

The brick arch although architecturally pleasing was also a space waster. Taking down the brick arch and replacing it with a more conventional doorway left enough space to custom build a built in larder, thus adding further strength to justifying renovating the dining room at the same time as modernising the kitchen.

This chair started out looking like the chair above. The picture is of the chairs now with new fabric. I love them. The fabric is black and white plaid on the front and on the back of the chairs the fabric is yellow with tiny roosters. …

Complete Bathroom Renovation

Our house was built in 1939 and the same family owned it pretty much since it was built. They didn’t do many updates, which is fine with me of course! When we first moved in we put in central heat and air, and added some cabinets to the kitchen and painted every room. You can see a few posts about our house when we first move in here and here I really wish I had documented more how it looked before! Can you believe that? Or at least saved the pictures from the reality listing! I really love our house though. We have a lot of plans for it, but kind of lost steam after doing a lot at first.

We had an airing cupboard in the en-suite bathroom, we had fitted wardrobes on the other side of the bedroom but what we was lacking was drawer space for underwear …

Over time, the basement started to smell musty and also became moldy. They knew they had to do something soon to get their basement back in a livable …
