The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

I’d convince myself that I needed a new home bar….right in the corner of my living room…it would look nice and I could be the bar maid and the paying customer too, it would be much fun like I owned a real bar or something!!

Keep in mind that you don’t always have to buy towel racks at a home improvement store or IKEA. One of my friends used old plumbing for her towel racks and it gave her bathroom a very cool, industrial feel. Plus, since she rescued them out of an old house that was about to be torn down, they were free! The benefits of the radiator shelf are twofold, firstly it reflects heat rising from the radiator into the room and secondly it provides additional shelving for your favourite ornaments.

Let’s talk about artwork. Two things my daughter LOVES is velvet and daisies. She was born in April which the flower is the daisy. We were looking for art that would fit in with the yellow, grey and white color palette. If you remember, Sarah Richardson’s bathroom was our inspiration. Sort of a delicious country meets modern design. All this forward planning, along with costings and time scales, were compiled into a now detailed project plan, along with all the other details to complete the project over the next eight months, on time and more or less to budget. Cost to remodel a bathroom varies greatly by region. Get free estimates from remodeling contractors in your city.

Next is the living room area. Again, a bit difficult to see here, but we used the same two tones of terracotta. The darker color is on the side walls, the lighter color on the far wall and beneath the wainscoting that continues from the dining area (off to your right, out of view). Brittany – Thank you, too! I was thinking of doing small glass jars on the shelves. Good idea of what to put in them!

Wow! This is a very happy post indeed. Having lived with my own extended house projects, I know you must be in 7th heaven to have it almost done! And it’s lovely. Your man deserves something really huge. Tell him his patience is A+ in my book! The baskets for this project were chosen in a warm grey and medium rust color, to add a pop of color to the finished room.
